Student Session 1: Education & Learning

 

Let’s learn about Education!

With registrations flying in, the Irish Postgraduate Research Conference (IPRC) is proud to have its first student session confirmed. This session will host student speakers from various universities, who will focus on the different aspects of Education & Learning. The session will cover Primary Education, Life-long Learning and various new methods of learning.

The individual topics to be presented are:

  • The changing landscape of Irish higher education: expectations and challenges –Tanya Zubrzycki (Trinity College Dublin)
  • A Mixed-Methods Study of Forest School Pedagogy in Irish Primary Schools– Joan Whelan (Dublin City University)
  • Self-Legitimacy and The Right to Hold Power: Experiences of Irish Senior Prison Staff – Sarah Curristan (Trinity College Dublin)
  • Literacy for Learning and Life – Tara Talbot (Our Lady’s Templemore)
  • Online learning the gateway to lifelong learning in Ireland: rhetoric and reality? – Colm Foley (Dublin City University)
  • Building a skill based system for better employee engagement in a software organization – Siddarth Nair (Dublin Business School)

Each speaker will give a 10-minute presentation after which the audience will get time to ask questions. Everybody is welcome to drop by and listen to the speakers.
