Student Session 2: Health (Nutrition, Physical Activity, Care)


Caring for one’s body

Registrations keep coming in and the Irish Postgraduate Research Conference (IPRC) is proud to have its fourth student session confirmed. This session will host student speakers from various universities, who will focus on the different aspects of health. The session will cover the health by looking at nutrition, physical activity and various other aspects of a healthy life.


The individual topics to be presented are:

  1. Diet Adjustment in Later Life: A Grounded Theory Study of Eating Behaviours Amongst the Ageing Population of Limerick. – Sharon O’Flaherty (Limerick Institute of Technology)
  2. How bacteria can help lead the way to a low sugar future – Tom Rice (Cork Institute of Technology)
  3. A personalised approach to nutrition – Kate Bermingham (University College Dublin)
  4. Food Solutions to Improve Vitamin D Status – Aislinn McCourt (University College Dublin)
  5. Evidence-Based Practice: Discovery and Translation of Knowledge to Advance Healthcare and Patient Outcomes in Irish Society – Joanne Cleary-Holdforth (Dublin City University)
  6. Examination of the Impact of Wearable Technology on Physical Activity Levels and Motivation of Adolescent Youth – Pádraig Bolger (Dublin City University)

Each speaker will give a 10-minute presentation after which the audience will get time to ask questions. Everybody is welcome to drop by and listen to the speakers.
